Eric Pederson - September 12, 2018

"You are my brother. There's not enough time in the world to say that. Please do not rush down. Have a good life. Eric"

My dearest friend, Best Man and Brother (in spirit) chose to end his 5 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer on September 11th. I can't begin to describe the sadness I feel for both him and his beautiful wife. My heart goes out to his parents, his sister and brothers and his friends and colleagues, many of whom were with him until the very end of his struggle. There is simply no person less deserving of the terrible suffering that he went through. Throughout his battle he never lost his humor, resolve or sense of responsibility and duty. It was such a privilege to have spent what time we had together. Hang onto your friends, they could be taken at any time.

I wanted you to know that yesterday Eric decided that he'd had enough.  The doctors put him under what is called palliative sedation so that he can die peacefully and naturally.  He wanted this very clearly.
I love him so much.

Eric has always been "understated" but I have an uneasy feeling that something is going on. I'm always available to talk so let me know if you would prefer email or voice. Eric is my longest and most respected friend despite our prolonged absence. If there's anything I can do please remember there's nothing I wouldn't do for him (or you for that matter).

Kelly,  I want you to know he feels the same way.

Understated is right.  It seems to be the way he approaches everything.  So here goes.  He's got pancreatic cancer, stage four.  Despite this he has been the poster boy for resilience.  He's been 'at it' for five years, this unheard of in the cancer community for this disease.  He is right out there for treatment as the doctors are winging it at this point.   Yeah.

That's probably enough for you to digest at the moment.  Phone or email any time, we're up for whatever.

Thanks for that. When Eric and I spoke on Thursday he did mention the last 5 years of treatment (in brief). My current uneasiness is wondering if there has been a recent change. Something that lead to him deciding to rid himself of the condo now.

Well, I guess it's a  case of preparing for uncertainty.. We're not sure what his state of health may bring.. also, the condo is older and he knows there needs to be work done on it so he wants to get out from under any special assessments etc.
One of the things we've thrown out there is getting another small property way out of town, it's something we have considered at different points. Don't know how feasible that would be right now.

Build a skinny little table to go behind a couch. Put a USB plug outlet in it to charge your tablet/phone while you're sitting .

Just spent 25 minutes giving her the most amazing back and neck rub ever. What does she say?

"Better then nothing".

O.K. You're welcome.

Candles

47 years old and she doesn't know how candles work! "Do candles just suddenly go away"?

Never mind. I'll ask Googles. They'll be nicer.

Horses going to summer camp.

This is going to end badly. The idea is that the horses will get used as school horses and come back well trained and easier to sell. My guess is they will be ruined by idiot kids that saw on the horse's mouths and turn them into useless trail horses. I should probably keep this to myself.
